Going Bovine by Libba Bray

Title: Going Bovine
Author: Libba Bray
Publisher: Random House
Pages:496
Synopsis(from b&n):Can Cameron find what he’s looking for?All 16-year-old Cameron wants is to get through high school—and life in general—with a minimum of effort. It’s not a lot to ask. But that’s before he’s given some bad news: he’s sick and he’s going to die. Which totally sucks. Hope arrives in the winged form of Dulcie, a loopy punk angel/possible hallucination with a bad sugar habit. She tells Cam there is a cure—if he’s willing to go in search of it. With the help of a death-obsessed, video-gaming dwarf and a yard gnome, Cam sets off on the mother of all road trips through a twisted America into the heart of what matters most.

Opinion/review: This is one of the weirdest books i have ever read and i am not just saying that. Weird in a  good way though. Cameron is just like all of us trying to survive high school when he finds out that he has mad cow disease.Throughout the entire book Cameron goes on a journey to find a cure for his disease. There is parallel between Don Quixote and Cameron. This book is like a roller coaster of emotions(mostly laugh out loud funny). There is even a gnome Balder, his own Sancho Panza if you will, if you are thinking how does a gnome fit into a story? You will definitely have to give this book a try. Honestly though it is quite long and Some people may not make it to the end and that's OK.  But props to Ms. Bray for creating this great convoluted story that just makes sense and is so fun to read.3.5/5
